Many years of enjoying home décor and crafts led to the conception of Moose Mountain Quilts, a small New Hampshire-based business that specializes in handmade quilts and sewn accessories. With a passion for style and a mission to make every project special, Moose Mountain Quilts takes pride in creating heirloom treasures.
Moose Mountain Quilts features high quality, handmade quilts, table runners, aprons, table toppers, coasters, window valances and pet accessories.
The quilting experience begins with a trip to the fabric shop. It is truly exciting to imagine the possibilities of which fabric combinations to choose. Each piece is then machine washed, dried, and pressed to help reduce future shrinkage and promote color fastness*. We use cotton fabric, mostly cotton batting (Warm & Natural batting contains some polypropylene for durability and stability), and cotton thread*.
*Some exclusions apply to pet accessories
Once a traditional or original pattern has been selected, it is time to cut the fabric using a rotary cutter. Each design is machine pieced and quilted, if necessary, using both straight-line and free motion techniques. Finally, if the design requires binding, it is machine and hand stitched to the finished piece and the process is complete.
For those of you who are local New Englanders or are traveling through the area, Moose Mountain Quilts is a proud member of the Wakefield Marketplace. This is a traditional farmer’s and artisan’s market located in the pole barn at the corner of Wakefield Road and Route 16 in beautiful Wakefield, New Hampshire. It is open seasonally on Saturdays, 9:00-3:00, from Memorial Day through Columbus Day.
